UP and Down Ride
THE UP & DOWN is a new ride with lots to offer in the way of challenge, scenery, support and food. Come join our inaugural ride on The Cascade Siskiyou Scenic Bikeway, the first such designated route in Southern Oregon. The route is 51 miles with 5100 feet of climbing on narrow, winding, low-traffic roads with unparalleled views of the Bear Creek Valley and Ashland.
The start and finish are at EMIGRANT LAKE, a rambling, shady park overlooking a large recreational lake. Registration will include a scrumptious bar-b-q lunch, locally crafted beer and music post-ride.
SPEND THE WEEKEND! Ashland, Southern Oregon’s cultural jewel, just four miles from Emigrant Lake Park, offers a plethora of activities, from theatre, music, endless dining options, wine tasting and even mountain biking and hiking opportunities. Riders can make arrangements to camp at Emigrant Lake or explore numerous lodging choices in Ashland, from B&Bs to a variety of downtown hotels, convenient for exploring Ashland on foot.
THE BEAR CREEK GREENWAY connects the communities of Ashland, Talent, Phoenix, Medford and Central Point with a 20-mile paved, multi-use trail. Bicyclists, skaters, runners, and walkers use the trail for transportation and recreation. Proceeds from the Up & Down Ride will go toward expanding and improving the Bear Creek Greenway.
