Slo-Mo Ride from Asante to Open Streets 10/12 10:30am
by Jeff Roberts on Sep, 25 2019
This is a short (3 mi) and slow (10mph) ride from the Asante parking lot on Black Oak @ 10:30am, to Medford Open Streets on Oct 12 from 11am-2pm. If you’re going to Open Streets you can drive to the Asante lot and bike to the Open Streets event. There will be a Bike Valet run by Siskiyou Velo to safely park your bike while you enjoy the event. Riders who are not Siskiyou Velo members will need to sign the waiver. See the route here.
We’ll start at the Asante Work/Health Rehab Services lot on Black Oak, ride the new section of the Larson Creek Path to the Greenway, and then exit the Greenway at Jackson to Open Streets at 3rd St and Bartlett St. Jackson will have traffic control in place. If you can volunteer as a sweep for this ride, let me know by email to: webmaster@siskiyouvelo.org.
I’ll lead a return ride at the end of the event @ 2pm, but anyone who wants to return earlier can do so on their own.
Open Streets will have many activities including live music, Zumba, a Bike Safety Demo from Siskiyou Velo, and a bike rodeo for kids put on by the Medford Police Dept. Open Streets has Bartlett St closed from Pear Blossom Park to Liberty Park. See their website: https://www.medfordopenstreets.org.
We also need Siskiyou Velo volunteers for the Bike Valet: respond to advocacy@siskiyouvelo.org.
Hope to see you there!
Jeff
