Phil Gagnon honored at Siskiyou Velo Holiday Party
by Victoria Brown on Dec, 10 2017
A “lifetime contribution” award was presented to longtime Club member and former Board president, Phil Gagnon, at the 2017 Siskiyou Velo Holiday Party. Phil presided over the transition of the Club to a more structured 501c7 non-profit organization during his presidency and also engaged the membership with monthly meetings including programs. Phil was instrumental in reaching out to beginning and returning riders to engage them in fun, safe group rides. An ambitious schedule of group bike tours was also planned and coordinated by Phil for years. At 86 years old, Phil continues to ride his recumbent trike and is an inspiration to all. The Club and southern Oregon have benefited from Phil’s contributions and we wish him many more happy miles on the trike. The Club board awarded Phil a lifetime membership in Siskiyou Velo and are proud to have him in the Club.
