Cyclist John Edward Dies in Crash

by Gary Shaff on Feb, 9 2018

John Edward Thomas, Jr., 56, crashed while riding on Hitt Road Trail in the Ashland Watershed on February 6th. He was found by a hiker near his bike.

“The medical examiner ruled the death accidental, saying Thomas, who was wearing a helmet, sustained significant head trauma in the fall. Authorities said Thomas was an experienced cyclist who was familiar with the Hitt Road trail, which is often used for mountain biking. Thomas was apparently negotiating a dip in the trail when he lost control and crashed.” (Associated Press).
