Siskiyou Velo

Southern Oregon's Premier Cycling Club

Back in the Saddle Again

To anyone hankering to get outdoors and exercise, this mini-series may have appeal. If you know of adults who say they’d like to get out there on their old bikes, please let them know about this series. The rides all start at 9 a.m. The first ride is May 10 at Blue Heron Park in Phoenix. Contact Phil Gagnon for details: star@mind.net

The Velo Club will hold a series of four Saturday rides in May for adults who want to get back in the saddle again and learn to ride in groups. Each ride will take place on various segments of the Greenway and be co-led by Club Ride Leaders. Each ride will have a coffee stop for riders to make new friends. A brief education segment will precede each ride along with a Q&A. The rides will be 12 to 18 miles with an aim to introduce new riders to skills, techniques and etiquette of riding in a group. On the first ride, a bike mechanic will be on hand to check newcomer’s bikes. The last Saturday ride will end with a mini-picnic, at which time new comers will be invited to become Club members and go on to ride in the Velo Slo-Mo ongoing Saturday group rides.
