Getting it Right

The Board expressed their support for the proposed addition of bike lanes in Downtown Ashland. The improvement is critical to creating an interconnected bicycle transportation system and ensuring that people riding bikes can get to and patronize the businesses located there. However, the improvement needs to ensure that cyclists are safer with the addition of bike lanes than they are now; without the bike lanes. The Club’s letter highlighted two locations where the addition of bike lanes may increase the potential for collisions rather than reduce them.
