Bicycle Tours in May
If you haven’t taken a bicycle camping tour and would like to try one, here are three, one night tours that can quickly tell you if bike touring is the adventure for you. There’s a possibility that a SAG wagon will be included on one or all tours. Details on food and other aspects will be answered by contacting Phil Gagnon.
A tent, sleeping bag and pad are essentials along with panniers. Craigslist is a novel place to start your search for these items if you don’t have them. (And if bike camping doesn’t appeal, you can resell them on Craigslist. How about that?)
May 1 – Applegate Lake Tour: Start in Ruch and ride 16 miles to overnight at Hart Tish Park on Applegate Lake’s shoreline.
May 16 – Rogue River Tour: Start at Bear Creek Park in Medford and ride 24 miles to overnight at Valley of the Rogue State Park.
May 30 – Fort Klamath Tour: Start at Fort Klamath and ride to Chiloquin for lunch and overnight at Collier Park. 16 miles.
